Subscription Terms

1. Introduction

These Subscription Terms govern paid Pro subscriptions offered through the iOS version of Decibel: dB Sound Meter. They form part of the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or maintain a subscription.

2. Platform availability and plans

iOS subscriptions are offered through Apple App Store where a purchase flow is made available. The current Android Release does not include Google Play Billing or an Android auto-renewing subscription. Plan name, price, billing period, trial, offer, eligibility, currency, tax treatment, and availability are the details shown by Apple before purchase.

3. Premium services

Where shown in the Apple purchase flow, Pro may include unlimited saved history, PDF report export, advanced noise analysis tools, extended calibration controls, and ad-free measurement. Benefits may vary by App version, country, Apple storefront, device, and purchase screen. We will not materially reduce an active paid entitlement where prohibited by law or Apple rules.

4. Billing and payment

Apple processes iOS subscription purchases. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm purchase, unless Apple states otherwise. We do not collect, process, or store your full payment-card number, bank-account details, or Apple Account password.

5. Auto-renewal

Unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, your iOS subscription automatically renews under the terms displayed by Apple. Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

6. Free trials and promotional offers

Apple may offer a free trial, introductory price, promotional price, offer code, or other limited offer. If one is offered, its duration, conversion to paid service, renewal terms, conditions, and eligibility are shown before purchase. Cancel before the displayed deadline to avoid a charge. Any unused trial portion may be forfeited where Apple rules permit.

7. Managing or cancelling a subscription

To manage or cancel an iOS subscription, open Settings, select your Apple Account, select Subscriptions, choose Decibel: dB Sound Meter, and select the available cancellation option. Apple’s current instructions control if they differ. Uninstalling or deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

The current Android Release has no Google Play subscription to manage or cancel. If Android billing is introduced, a separate Android cancellation path will be disclosed before it becomes available.

8. Access after cancellation

After cancellation, you may continue to access the applicable Pro entitlement until the end of the current paid period, subject to Apple’s rules and applicable law. After expiry, access may be limited, removed, or return to the free version.

9. Restore purchases

Where the App provides a restore-purchase function, it can restore only a valid entitlement associated with the same Apple Account and Apple’s current purchase status. Restoration does not create a new entitlement, transfer an entitlement, or override Apple records.

10. Refunds

Refund requests for iOS purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies and applicable law. Apple determines eligibility, timing, approval, and processing. We do not promise a refund outcome that differs from mandatory law or Apple’s applicable rules.

11. Price changes

Subscription prices may change. Where law or Apple rules require notice or consent, Apple will provide the applicable process. If you do not accept a required price change, the subscription may expire or be cancelled under Apple’s rules.

12. Plan changes

If Apple offers an upgrade, downgrade, or plan switch, Apple controls proration, timing, billing adjustment, renewal date, and access changes. The App does not promise that every plan-change option will be offered.

13. Taxes

Prices may include or exclude VAT, GST, sales tax, or similar charges according to your country, Apple storefront, and purchase screen. Apple may calculate, collect, and remit taxes where required.

14. Subscription verification

To provide Pro entitlement and prevent unauthorized access, the App may use Apple purchase and transaction information to verify a subscription, restore access, resolve billing issues, and detect fraud or abuse. Verification is limited to the information and purposes necessary for those functions.

15. Billing issues

If Apple cannot charge a payment method, your subscription may enter a retry, grace, account-hold, expiry, or other state defined by Apple. Pro access can continue, be limited, or end according to Apple’s rules.

16. Platform control

Apple controls iOS payment authorization, billing, renewal, cancellation, refund handling, tax handling, and certain subscription-management functions. Manage an iOS subscription directly through Apple Account settings. We cannot cancel it for you unless Apple provides a relevant developer tool.

17. No transfer

Subscriptions are generally associated with the Apple Account used to purchase and are not transferable to another person, Apple Account, or platform unless Apple expressly permits it. iOS entitlements do not create an Android subscription.

18. Changes to premium services

We may update, improve, replace, or discontinue Pro features. Some features depend on Apple services, device capabilities, operating systems, and third-party components. We will provide notice where required by law or platform rules.

19. Changes to these Subscription Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, platform, product, or operational changes. The latest version will be made available in the App or on the official website. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only where allowed by law.

These Subscription Terms must be read with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
